A Life Lived for Others is a Life Worthwhile



Choosing a right career has always been difficult for each one of us . Letting go off the world of  wants and desires she choose social work as a career where she knew it wouldnt be a well paid job but for her money really doesnt matter but  her staisfaction towards   bringing change for others was far more priortized. . 
To take her Volunteer's experience further she took up a Volunteers's course at Tata Institute of Social Sciences At a later stage she took up a job as a Volunteer Manager (Training Indian & Foreign volunteers) at Shelter Don Bosco . Along with training college ,university ,corporate , national & international volunteers she aslo trained Salesian brothers . At the moment she is  Creating a Volunteers Manual  to train Indian and foreign volunteers at Don Bosco Research centre Mumbai .She has continued to train volunteers and make sure that they become committed volunteers  who really will bring major differences in society


Her first job as a social worker was great challenege to deal with vulnerable children from the Streets of Mumbai. With a group of drug abused boys and street children on and off the streets with her creative skills and funloving attitude she won hearts of these boys . She took up more responsibilities at the organization and started multitasking missions . She formulated nonformal education through visual art for children at the railway study classes and monthly street children's fest. With her she trained  Youth Volunteers to walk along her and conduct activities for the boys. . 
She also took up other responsibilities of organizing residential events,  summer clubs  & camps for the boys .She helped in bringing resources and organising Diwali Fair for 3,000 street children from across the state for 4 consequent years. 

With her brilliant work of events she was offered a co-ordinators post for an event Udaan - National Career Fair for Marginalized youth. The event comprised of helping vulnerable youth choose right careers through career guidance , career counselling & Career Demonstartions . More than 2000 participated every year . 100's of Non-governmental organizations , youth  trainingcentres , Companies came forward to discuss this issue . To take this project forward she was involved in Youth skills traning , alternative education and placing children with livelihood options . She helped several boys from shelter and other ngos to get into a sustainable career of their choices. Seeing her doing brillant at her work she was offered a Co-ordinator's post at Shelter Don Bosco . She was taking care of the organizations working for 2 years writing reports for TDH & BMZ germany, coordinating work with staff members, children, youth and seeing the growth of the children as well as the organization . She was able to help the organization with a funding event called Mission Shikshan were 3,000 people participated. Within 2 years she was able to help the children with several new activities ,events & projects. www.shelterdonbosco.org

After her support at shelter she still continues her volunteering at Shelter Don Bosco. At the moment she is preparing them for their 25th year celebrations.  She is at the moment supporting different Don Bosco Organizations and has aimed at reaching out to many more children. 

Currently she is working as a Consultant at Don Bosco Research Centre Mumbai 
( India)http://childrensresearchandtherapy.com/onlineorder.html for a project called Connect All India which aims at empowering the poor by Social & Financial inclusion( Identity building, Capacity building, Financial Literacy  savings, Enterpreneruship, Education, Health Care, Asset building , involving them in government schemes etc  ).The project also aims at up scaling the Rural & Urban sectors of India . She is dealing with the Corporate Social Responsibility departrment and aims at bringing in several resources & Companies to come together and  bring an end to the root causes of Poverty & Street children.
She is also involved in creating a manual on Connect All India which will help several non-governmental organizations to help them  understand the importance of the concept of Social and Financial inclusion of the poor in society  and how they can bring in sustainable change .

Here she is creating a Volunteers Manaul which would train organizations to train volunteers & . Volunteers to know how to deal with children and conduct different activities. With her experiences she aims at providing youth of her generation to understand volunteering and supporting greater causes. 

She is also working on a Study of Transition from Education to Livelihood amongst Marginalized  youth . After her experience with the National Career Fairs for 3 years & placing underprivileged youth for skill training and job placements she aimed at helping in a research to understand the dropout rate amongst the marginalized children in education, youth in skills training and at places where they were job placed . the study further aims at highlighting this issue in platforms of Advocacy, government departments and amongst non-governemental organizations. 

With her other creative skills she helps in designing presentaions, newsletters , videos for different projects .

With her sheer dedication she is helping at Don Bosco Balprafulta a Child rights Ngo  with helping them conceptualize events , projects for chidlren's activities and healing community children with her therapy workshops . She aslo creates designs for their different projects one of which included a campaign on child Labour and a design she created was put in theaters across the city which was done in collaboration with Don Bosco Youth at Risk Forrum. She also helped in organizing World Children's Day event where 2000 children participated. from several ngos .

She has helped in raising funds for Education for the underprivileged children studying in the night school & conducts therapy workshops for Boarding boys & Night school children.
 A part of her skills she was always a dance choreographer at several places and trained children ,friends and youth for 18yrs of her life since school. To take this skill further she felt the need of helping children through dance as a tool for therapy workshops than being a famous choreographer .


 Her passion towards helping children she also further aimed at healing them with different art therapies  and studying further . With her dancing skills she has started conducting Dance Movement therapy sessions with different children from schools, boardings, night schools, slum communites, tribal village children, specially challegened children. She is currently doing a Arts Based Therapy course from World Centre for creative learning , Pune ( India)

To learn more skills and reachout to more children she has collaborated with a German Dance therapist Heidi Rehse from Salamaleque Germany . She was trained by Heidi with few more skills and they together unite and conduct several workshops when she visits india .

With her vast exprience of 15 yrs in dealing with children she reaching out to thounsands of underprivileged children across our country. Healing children with Art forms has helped in not only healing children and youth but has helped them choose right paths in life . 





With deep commitment and dedication she has rigorously worked for the welfare of these children and aims to continue bringing in change in them as well as society at large and be a part of the better future of her country .
